How It All Started

Our Story

Pasta Baby didn’t start in a restaurant. It started with an obsession.

An obsession with what comfort food should taste like.

For years, I searched for a spaghetti sauce that hit the soul the way I imagined it could. I tried everything — fancy restaurants, hidden hole-in-the-wall spots, family recipes, trendy places, old-school places. Nothing ever tasted like the vision I had in my head.

So I started creating it myself.

What began as experimentation turned into countless hours, days, and eventually years of studying flavor, testing ingredients, failing, retrying, and chasing a taste that had no blueprint.

“You need to sell this.”

At first, that sounded impossible.

But the vision stayed alive. More years of trial and error. More experimenting. More chasing a flavor that felt unforgettable.

And slowly, Pasta Baby became bigger than just food.

It became belief.

In 2017, life hit hard. We lost everything in a house fire. Two weeks later, we both lost our jobs too. With nothing left to lose, we decided to do something crazy.

We packed up and drove to Los Angeles.

Not because we knew the food industry. Not because we had investors. Not because we had connections.

We simply believed this flavor deserved a chance.

The road wasn’t glamorous.

Savings disappeared fast. LA was expensive. Eventually, we found ourselves homeless — living in our car, showering at the gym, keeping our belongings in a storage unit.

But somehow, even during the hardest moments, the vision never left.

Then came the festivals. The pop-ups. The crowds. The people returning for seconds. The moments that made us realize this wasn’t crazy after all.

We weren’t just serving pasta anymore.

We were creating experiences people remembered.

Eventually, life led us back home to Memphis — and honestly, it made sense.

Memphis is bold. Soulful. Creative. Gritty. Built from resilience.

That’s Pasta Baby too.

Back in Memphis, we kept evolving.

New flavors. New creations. Bigger vision. Same soul.

This isn’t just pasta.

This is years of risk, obsession, heartbreak, reinvention, grit, and belief cooked into every bite.

And we’re just getting started.
